COVID-19 was first detected in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. On January 30, 2020 the International Health Regulations Emergency Committee of the World Health Organization declared the outbreak a “public health emergency of international concern.”
The most common symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. If you have developed symptoms and have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19 OR you have recently traveled from an area with widespread or ongoing community spread of COVID-19 please call your primary care provider or call South Central Public Health District at (208) 737-5900.
COVID-19 tests will be provided to anyone who is screened and meets criteria based on their symptoms and/or exposure. Our team is available to screen you to determine if testing is needed. North Canyon will bill your insurance company, however, you will not have an out of pocket or co-payment, regardless of your test result. Pricing of the COVID-19 test depends on where the sample is collected and processed. If processed at NCMC, the charge will be $150.
