Addiction is rapidly becoming a topic of national discussion and debate. Opioid addiction has made headlines over the past decade, and is steadily increasing in scope and cost. Many other addictions are also problems within our society. Alcohol, nicotine, methamphetamine, and other drugs are also problematic. Behavioral addictions likewise pose high costs to our society, financially and socially. Medical treatments can help stabilize patients while behavioral treatments help them learn how to live a healthy and productive life. At NCMC, we offer a comprehensive Addiction Medicine program in conjunction with the Walker Center.
